Product management is one of the most strategic roles in the structure of Indonesian startups. According to a report by Monk's Hill Ventures and Glints, product managers in Indonesian startups earn twice as much as non-technical roles.
However, the salary range for product management in Indonesia remains below that of Vietnam and Singapore. A senior product manager in Indonesia commands a market price of US$3,000 or Rp 43.5 million per month (at an exchange rate of Rp 14,500/USD).
In the same position, Vietnamese workers earn US$5,000 or Rp 72.5 million per month. Meanwhile, senior product managers in Singapore earn US$6,900 or Rp 100.1 million per month.
Senior UI/UX designers in startups also have different salary ranges in the three countries. A senior UI/UX designer from Indonesia earns US$1,700 or Rp 24.7 million per month.
In Vietnam, senior UI/UX designers earn US$4,000 or Rp 58 million per month. In Singapore, UI/UX designers earn US$7,000 or Rp 101.5 million per month.
Monk's Hill Ventures and Glints conducted in-depth interviews with over 20 startup founders in Singapore, Indonesia, and Vietnam. A survey was also conducted on over 175 technology and non-technology startup employees, reflecting current market conditions. The selected startups were in the venture capital funding stage (seed stage, less than US$50 million).
