Two Indonesian startups made the list of the top 10 best-funded startups in Asia during July-September 2022. According to CB Insights, a global startup ecosystem research firm, these two startups are DANA and Traveloka.
The financial technology (fintech) company DANA secured the largest funding in Asia, with US$555 million. DANA received investments from Lazada and Sinar Mas Indonesia.
Meanwhile, Traveloka ranked 6th with US$300 million in funding. Traveloka's investors include BlackRock, Allianz Global Investors, Indonesia Investment Authority, and Orion Capital.
CB Insights' report, titled *State of Venture Q3 2022*, summarizes all funding deals that occurred during July-September 2022. One of the categories highlighted is the list of the largest investments in Asia.
According to CB Insights, the median funding value in Asia slightly decreased from US$6 million to US$5 million. This could indicate that investors are no longer willing to overpay for startup shares in Asia, or that founders are willing to sell shares at lower prices.
Total funding received by startups in Asia during Q3 2022 amounted to US$20.1 billion, or approximately Rp 309 trillion, across 2,890 deals.
