2016, Indonesian Mobile Data Usage 3,800 TB/day

Indonesia's cellular data usage in 2016 reached 3,800 terabytes per day and is projected to continue increasing in subsequent years. This figure is estimated to reach 8,000 terabytes per day by 2018. Three cellular companies in Indonesia, namely Telkomsel, XL Axiata, and Indosat, have led the telecommunications market in recent years.

The growth of cellular data in Indonesia has more than tripled in the last three years. This is due to several factors, including the expansion of network coverage, decreasing prices of smartphones, and the emergence of more user-friendly communication applications. In anticipation of this, the government has fostered an environment conducive to telecommunications investment through various regulations and infrastructure development to support the national telecommunications industry.
