Indonesian Military (TNI) Salary List: From Highest to Lowest Rank

Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) salaries vary according to rank and job classification.

The following is the range of TNI basic salaries stipulated in Government Regulation (PP) No. 16 of 2019, ordered from highest to lowest rank:

Group IV (High-Ranking Officers)

* Admiral/Air Chief Marshal: Rp5,238,200 to Rp5,930,800
* Lieutenant General: Rp5,079,300 to Rp5,930,800
* Major General: Rp3,290,500 to Rp5,576,500
* Brigadier General: Rp3,290,500 to Rp5,407,400

Group IV (Middle-Ranking Officers)

* Colonel: Rp3,190,700 to Rp5,243,400
* Lieutenant Colonel: Rp3,093,900 to Rp5,084,300
* Major: Rp3,000,100 to Rp4,930,100

Group III (First-Ranking Officers)

* Captain: Rp2,909,100 to Rp4,780,600
* First Lieutenant: Rp2,820,800 to Rp4,635,600
* Second Lieutenant: Rp2,735,300 to Rp4,425,200

Group II (Non-Commissioned Officers)

* First Lieutenant Assistant: Rp2,454,000 to Rp4,032,600

In addition to basic salary, TNI members receive performance allowances that vary according to rank and job classification.

Based on Presidential Regulation Number 102 of 2018, the TNI performance allowance for the highest position reaches Rp37,810,500, while for the lowest position it is Rp1,968,000.

TNI members are also entitled to other allowances, including:

* Spouse allowance: 10% of basic salary
* Child allowance: 2% of basic salary for a maximum of 2 children
* Rice allowance: 18 kg of rice per month at a price of Rp8,047 per kg, and an additional 10 kg of rice per month for a wife and two children
* Position allowance: According to structural position, ranging from Rp360,000 to Rp5,500,000 per month
* Food allowance: Rp60,000 per day
* Security operation allowance: 150% of basic salary if assigned to an uninhabited outer small island, 100% of basic salary if assigned to an inhabited outer small island, 75% of basic salary if assigned to the border, and 50% of basic salary if temporarily assigned to the border and outer small islands.
