Restrictions on activities at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic necessitated that several activities be conducted remotely, such as teaching and learning. Internet connectivity thus became crucial for these activities.

In a survey by the Indonesian Internet Service Providers Association (APJII), 76.63%, or more than three out of four respondents, in the 13-18 age group reported an increase in their internet usage frequency.

The percentage of respondents who increased their internet usage was higher than in the 19-34 age group. 53.99% of the 19-34 age group reported an increase in their internet usage.

Furthermore, 47.91% of respondents in the 35-54 age group increased their internet usage, and only 31.93% of the 55 and over age group reported an increase.

The APJII survey involved 7,568 respondents obtained through probability sampling with multistage random sampling. The survey was conducted from January 11 to February 24, 2022.

Quality control of the sample was conducted randomly on 30% of the total sample. The margin of error is 1.13% with a 95% confidence level.
