Most Indonesian Citizens Assess Road Construction and Improvement in Indonesia as Unsatisfactory

The majority of Indonesians believe that road construction and improvement in Indonesia is inadequate.

This is reflected in a survey by Kurious-Katadata Insight Center (KIC), which shows that 59.9% of respondents stated that road construction and improvement in Indonesia is still inadequate.

This is because the government is perceived to only focus on roads that go viral or receive significant media attention.

Meanwhile, 35.6% of respondents stated that road construction and improvement in Indonesia is good and meets the needs of the community. Another 4.5% responded "don't know".

According to *Katadata*, the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), Basuki Hadimuljono, has requested that the Minister of Finance, Sri Mulyani, immediately release the budget for road repairs in several regions.

He hopes that the budget will be disbursed soon, including the budget for road repairs in Lampung, which has recently been highlighted by the public on social media.

The Kurious-KIC survey involved 622 respondents from various regions of Indonesia, with 54.7% female respondents and 45.3% male respondents.

Most respondents (63.7%) were from Java. Looking at age groups, respondents aged 35-44 years old dominated at 33.6%, followed by the 25-34 age group (27.3%) and the 45-54 age group (23.2%).

Data collection was conducted from June 12-22, 2023, using computer-assisted web interviewing (CAWI), with a margin of error of approximately 3.92% and a confidence level of 95%.
