Meanwhile, based on data from the Population and Civil Registration Office (Dukcapil), the number reached 350.79 million. This means there's a significant difference of 45.93 million cards between the operator data and Dukcapil data.
Indonesia's largest mobile operator, Telkomsel, recorded 144.17 million registered prepaid SIM cards. However, according to registration validation using the Citizen Identity Number (NIK) and Family Card (KK) data from Dukcapil, the number reached 166.54 million, a difference of 22.36 million cards. The largest discrepancy between operator and Dukcapil data was recorded by XL Axiata, reaching 10.9 million cards, followed by Indosat with 10.7 million cards.
For information, the number of registered prepaid SIM cards at the Ministry of Communication and Informatics as of March 19, 2018, reached 360.31 million. Indonesia's population is approximately 265 million. Therefore, the prepaid SIM card ratio reaches 135% of the population, indicating that each person uses an average of 1.35 prepaid SIM cards.
