This is reflected in the survey results from the Katadata Insight Center (KIC) and the Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kominfo), which show that the majority of Indonesian people access information through social media, reaching 73%.

Other sources of information for Indonesian citizens include television (59.7%), online news (26.7%), official government websites (13.9%), print media (4%), and radio (4%). Meanwhile, 1.2% of respondents did not access any information at all.

This survey was conducted on 10,000 respondents across 34 Indonesian provinces from October 4-24, 2021. Respondents were household members aged 13-70 years who had accessed the internet in the previous three months.

The survey used a multistage random sampling method with a margin of error of +/- 0.98% at a 95% confidence level.
