The Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) has allocated Rp81.3 billion (approximately USD 5.3 million) to several national-level sports organizations. This funding supports national training centers (pelatnas) in preparation for the 2024 Paris Olympics qualifiers, scheduled for July 26th to August 11th.
"Let's work together to support and encourage our athletes to continue training diligently with high fighting spirit," said Minister of Youth and Sports Dito Ariotedjo in a press release on Monday, February 26, 2024.
Of the 13 sports receiving funding, rowing received the largest allocation, while taekwondo received the smallest.
The following is a breakdown of Kemenpora's funding per sport, listed from highest to lowest:
* Rowing: Rp13.9 billion
* Archery: Rp11.9 billion
* Weightlifting: Rp8.8 billion
* Badminton: Rp8.65 billion
* Cycling: Rp7.5 billion
* Shooting: Rp5.9 billion
* Beach Volleyball: Rp5.7 billion
* Aquatics: Rp4.8 billion
* Judo: Rp4.1 billion
* Athletics: Rp3.6 billion
* Gymnastics: Rp2.9 billion
* Surfing: Rp1.7 billion
* Taekwondo: Rp1.4 billion
This funding is channeled to the national-level organizations of each sport.
However, according to Kemenpora, as of February 26, 2024, two organizations have yet to fulfill their 2023 fiscal year obligations: the Indonesian Rowing Association (PODSI) and the Indonesian Shooting and Hunting Association (Perbakin).
