Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg plans to unify the messaging services of Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, and Instagram. This plan is considered to make Zuckerberg the most dangerous person in the world because he would control the communication networks of billions of people globally. Zuckerberg is the founder and CEO of Facebook. According to the Global Digital Report from We Are Social and Hootsuite, the number of active Facebook users continues to grow every year.

In 2017, the number of active Facebook users was 1.87 billion, then increased by 15.82% to 2.17 billion active users in 2018. In 2019, the number of active Facebook users grew by 4.8% to 2.27 billion users. Meanwhile, Facebook Messenger increased from 1 billion active users in 2017 to 1.3 billion active users in 2018 and 2019.

WhatsApp ranked first in the messaging app category with 1.9 billion active users, up 46.15% from 1.3 billion users in 2018. Meanwhile, Instagram ranked third after Facebook and YouTube in the social networking category with 1 billion active users. This figure increased from 800 million active users in 2018 and 500 million active users in 2017.
