World's Highest-Valued Unicorns

The number of companies globally classified as *unicorns* continues to grow. A unicorn is a privately held company with a valuation exceeding US$1 billion. As of December 2021, there were over 900 unicorns worldwide, spread across various countries.

Bytedance, a Chinese company, is among the world's largest unicorns. According to CB Insights data, its valuation reached US$140 billion as of December 2021. This Artificial Intelligence company has attracted numerous prominent investors, including Sequoia Capital China, SIG Asia Investments, Sina Weibo, and Softbank Group.

SpaceX, owned by billionaire Elon Musk, holds the second position as the world's largest unicorn. This United States-based company has a valuation of US$100.3 billion.

Two fintech (financial technology) companies occupy the third and fourth positions: Stripe from the United States and Klarna from Sweden. Their valuations are US$95 billion and US$45.6 billion, respectively.

Canva, an Australian software and internet services company, has a valuation of US$40 billion. Two United States-based companies, Instacart (supply chain, logistics, and delivery) and Databricks (data management and analytics), have valuations of US$39 billion and US$38 billion, respectively.
