FC Barcelona Remains the Richest Football Club

According to a Deloitte report, FC Barcelona was the highest-earning football club in the 2019/2020 season. The club, home to Lionel Messi, earned €715.1 million, equivalent to Rp 12.5 trillion (using an exchange rate of Rp 17,500/EUR). This made FC Barcelona the richest football club in the world.

FC Barcelona's position remained unchanged from the 2018/2019 season. However, its revenue in 2019/2020 decreased compared to the previous season, which reached €840.8 million or Rp 14.7 trillion.

The decrease in revenue for the Spanish club is believed to be due to mass gathering restrictions during the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic. This prevented fans from attending several football matches.

Real Madrid followed FC Barcelona with revenue of €691.8 million or Rp 12.1 trillion in the 2019/2020 season. FC Bayern Munich came next with revenue of €634.1 million or Rp 11.1 trillion.
