Indonesia won two championship titles at the Hong Kong Open 2023 finals on Sunday (17/9/2023). The two titles were won by the women's doubles pair Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silvia Ramadhanti and men's singles player Jonathan Christie.
Apriyani/Fadia played in the opening match of the Hong Kong Open 2023 final against Tan Pearly/Thinaah Muralitharan (Malaysia). Apriyani/Fadia forced Tan/Thinaah to lose with a score of 14-21, 24-22, 21-9 in a grueling three-game duel lasting 73 minutes.
The success of the Indonesian women's doubles pair was followed by Jonathan Christie, who defeated Kenta Nishimoto (Japan). In this tight duel, Jonathan ultimately stood on the champion's podium, defeating Kenta with a score of 12-21, 22-20, 21-18.
Meanwhile, the runner-up title was won by the men's doubles pair Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin, who lost in the final match against Kim Astrup/Anders Skaarup Rasmussen (Denmark).
Similar to Apriyani/Fadia and Jonathan, Leo/Daniel also played three games against Astrup/Rasmussen, the silver medalists at the 2023 BWF World Championships.
