Papua, the Indonesian Province with the Highest Sports Development Index 2024

According to data from the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Indonesia's Sports Development Index (IPO) score in 2024 reached 0.334 on a scale of 0-1.

This achievement increased by 0.007 points compared to 2023, which was 0.327.

The IPO is a composite index of 9 dimensions reflecting the success of sports development. These dimensions include:

1. Sports human resources (HR);

2. Open space;

3. Physical literacy;

4. Participation;

5. Fitness;

6. Personal development;

7. Health;

8. Economy; and

9. Performance.

According to Kemenpora, the increase in the national IPO in 2024 occurred in the dimensions of physical literacy, open space, participation, physical fitness, personal development, and health.

When broken down by province, Papua achieved the highest score, followed by Aceh, Bangka Belitung Islands, South Kalimantan, and Jambi.

Here is a list of the 10 provinces in Indonesia with the highest IPO scores in 2024:

1. Papua: 0.468 points

2. Aceh: 0.464 points

3. Bangka Belitung Islands: 0.457 points

4. South Kalimantan: 0.442 points

5. Jambi: 0.436 points

6. Southeast Sulawesi: 0.436 points

7. North Sulawesi: 0.415 points

8. North Kalimantan: 0.414 points

9. East Java: 0.413 points

10. West Java: 0.409 points
