The Kanjuruhan Stadium riot tragedy in Malang, East Java, during a football match between Arema FC Malang and Persebaya Surabaya, a derby match, has left deep sorrow. The match, which ended with a 3-2 victory for Persebaya, was marred by numerous deaths and injuries due to rioting by supporters.
A total of 125 people died in the riot. This number of victims is the third highest in a football match worldwide.
