ASEAN Para Games 2023 Provisional Standings: Indonesia Secures 128 Gold Medals, Guaranteed Overall Champion

Indonesia has solidified its top position in the 2023 ASEAN Para Games in Cambodia. As of Wednesday (June 7, 2023), Indonesia has secured 128 gold medals, 112 silver medals, and 72 bronze medals, totaling 312 medals.

Indonesia's gold medal count has surpassed the initial target of 121 set by the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora).

With this achievement exceeding expectations, Indonesia is guaranteed to be the overall champion of the 2023 ASEAN Para Games. Furthermore, Indonesia's gold medal count is insurmountable by Thailand, its closest competitor with 96 gold medals.

"Praise be to God, what we aspired to and hoped for from the entire contingent has been achieved tonight, resulting in a proud achievement. We have secured the overall championship, even with two days of competition remaining," stated the Chef de Mission (CdM) of the Indonesian Contingent, Andi Herman, as quoted by Tempo.co on Wednesday (June 7, 2023).

Thailand is in second place with a total of 96 gold medals, 82 silver medals, and 60 bronze medals. Vietnam follows in third place with 60 gold medals, 52 silver medals, and 72 bronze medals.

Meanwhile, the host country, Cambodia, has only obtained 9 gold medals, 18 silver medals, and 36 bronze medals.
