Various Reasons Why the Public Rates the KPK's Performance as Good

A survey conducted by KedaiKOPI (Indonesia Public Opinion Discussion and Study Group) shows that 85.5% of Indonesians rate the performance of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) as good. Only 14.5% of respondents considered the KPK's performance to be unsatisfactory.

55.1% of respondents who rated the KPK's performance as good reasoned that the anti-corruption commission had successfully arrested many corruptors. 14% of respondents considered the KPK's performance proven effective. 5.5% of respondents considered the KPK firm and courageous in fighting corruption.

2.7% of respondents believed the KPK had reduced corruption. 1.7% of respondents considered the KPK's response quick or agile. 1.6% of respondents viewed the KPK as independent and integrous.

Furthermore, 1.1% of respondents believed the KPK had successfully instilled anti-corruption values. 0.2% of respondents believed the KPK had eradicated corruption down to the regional level. Meanwhile, 15.3% of respondents did not provide a reason when considering the KPK's performance to be good.

KedaiKOPI conducted face-to-face surveys with 2,000 respondents across Indonesia from January 4-11, 2021. The survey's margin of error is 2.19% with a 95% confidence level.
