Forty political parties registered with the General Election Commission (KPU) as prospective participants in the 2024 General Election between August 1st and 14th, 2022.
Of that number, 24 political parties passed the administrative verification stage. At this stage, the KPU declared that 9 political parties currently represented in the DPR RI (House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia) passed, along with 9 non-parliamentary political parties, proceeding to the factual verification stage. Six other parties were disqualified.
The six parties that failed the administrative verification sued the KPU to the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu). These were the Indonesian People's Voice Party (Parsindo), PKPI, the Indonesian Republican Party, the Just and Prosperous People's Party (Prima), the Republic Party, and the United Republic Party.
18 Political Parties that Passed the 2024 Election Verification
On October 14, 2022, the KPU announced the results of the administrative verification of political parties vying to participate in the 2024 elections for the House of Representatives (DPR) and Regional Representative Council (DPRD).
Nine parliamentary parties passed verification:
1. Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP)
2. Prosperous Justice Party (PKS)
3. NasDem Party
4. Democratic Party
5. National Awakening Party (PKB)
6. National Mandate Party (PAN)
7. Golkar Party
8. United Development Party (PPP)
9. Great Indonesia Movement Party (Gerindra)
Five parties that participated in the 2019 election but did not win parliamentary seats also passed:
1. Crescent Star Party (PBB)
2. People's Conscience Party (Hanura)
3. Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI)
4. Perindo Party
5. Indonesian Change Guard Party (Garuda Party)
Four new parties passed verification:
1. Nusantara Awakening Party (PKN)
2. Indonesian People's Wave Party (Gelora)
3. Labor Party
4. Ummat Party
