Based on social media analytics firm Drone Emprit, the second vice-presidential candidate (cawapres), Gibran Rakabuming Raka, was the most discussed by netizens on Twitter/X during the fourth 2024 Presidential Debate.
Drone Emprit conducted this analysis during the debate, which took place on January 21, 2024, from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM WIB. During this period, Gibran received the most mentions on Twitter, totaling 142,469.
The volume of mentions related to Gibran stemmed from searches using the keywords "Gibran, Walikota Solo, gibran_tweet, cawapres 02, cawapres no 02, cawapres nomor urut 02, el samsul, el sulfat".
Next, the first vice-presidential candidate, Muhaimin Iskandar, also known as Cak Imin, followed with 141,293 mentions. This conversation volume originated from keywords such as "Muhaimin Iskandar, Cak Imin, Gus Imin, Gus Muhaimin, cakiminNOW, cawapres 01, cawapres nomor urut 01, el slepet".
Meanwhile, the third vice-presidential candidate, Mahfud MD, received the fewest mentions compared to his two competitors, with 71,647.
The conversation volume related to the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs (Menkopolhukam) came from keywords such as "Mahfud MD, Mahfudmd, mohmahfudmd, prof mahfud, pak mahfud, cawapres 03, cawapres no 03, cawapres nomor urut 03, el profesor, el professor".
Drone Emprit's report also found that Gibran received the highest percentage of negative sentiment on Twitter, reaching 60%. Positive sentiment accounted for 33%, and neutral sentiment for 7%.
According to Drone Emprit's findings, the negative sentiment towards Gibran stemmed from his perceived violation of debate rules by leaving the podium to speak, lack of decorum, use of a silly debating style, arrogance, and belittling his opponents. Additionally, some criticized his performance as being worse than in previous debates.
Despite this, Gibran also received positive sentiment for his good speaking ability and focus on his vision and mission without using notes or prompting.
