The Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR), Puan Maharani Nakshatra Kusyala Devi, stated that the legislators of the 2024-2029 period have completed 14 bills (RUU) in their first year of service.

Of the 14 bills passed, Commission II completed the most bills into laws. This was followed by the DPR Legislation Body and Commissions I and VI.

“To date, the DPR RI, together with the government, has completed the discussion of 14 bills, namely Commission I with 1 law, Commission II with 10 laws, Commission VI with 1 law, and the Legislation Body with 2 laws,” said Puan in her speech at the Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Friday (15/8/2025).

For information, Commission I oversees issues related to defense, foreign affairs, communication and informatics, and intelligence.

Commission II oversees issues related to domestic government, land, and state apparatus empowerment.

Meanwhile, Commission VI oversees trade, trade areas, and business competition supervision.

According to Puan, the performance of other commissions regarding the completion of bills is still in the formation and discussion stages.

She added that in the next session, the DPR, together with the government and the Regional Representative Council (DPD), will focus on discussing 11 bills currently in the first stage.

“The DPR RI will always prioritize the formation of quality laws, thus prioritizing quality performance over quantity,” said Puan.
