Poltracking: Agus-Sylvi Remain Ahead in the Polls After the First Debate

According to a survey by Poltracking Indonesia, the electability of gubernatorial candidate pair Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono-Sylviana Murni remained highest during the first debate of the Jakarta gubernatorial election.

Agus-Sylvi's electability during the debate reached 32.6 percent, an increase from 30.81 percent before the debate. The electability of the Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok)-Djarot Saiful Hidayat pair also increased to 29.17 percent during the debate, from 26.85 percent beforehand. Similarly, the electability of the Anies Rasyid Baswedan-Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno pair rose to 28.99 percent during the debate, up from 26.72 percent before the debate. The percentage of respondents who did not know/did not answer decreased to 9.24 percent from 15.62 percent before the debate.

Respondent interviews were conducted on January 13, 2017, one hour after the first debate. A total of 617 respondents were interviewed and proportionally validated, with a margin of error of +/- 3.6 percent at a 95 percent confidence level.
