Top 10 Indonesian Provinces with the Largest Agricultural GRDP in 2021

Several Indonesian provinces hold national food barn status, particularly in the agricultural sector. This sector also contributes significantly to the regional gross domestic product (RGDP).

The Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) reported that East Java's agricultural sector RGDP reached Rp282.39 trillion in 2021. This value is the highest compared to the agricultural sector RGDP of the other 33 provinces.

The next province with the largest agricultural RGDP is Riau, reaching Rp226.21 trillion last year. This is followed by Central Java with an agricultural RGDP of Rp196.88 trillion, North Sumatra with Rp189.49 trillion, and West Java with Rp188.62 trillion.

Following these are South Sulawesi with an agricultural sector RGDP of Rp122.97 trillion; Lampung with Rp105.59 trillion; South Sumatra with Rp74.31 trillion; Jambi with Rp73.77 trillion; and East Kalimantan with Rp58.92 trillion.

For information, the national agricultural GDP reached Rp2.25 quadrillion in 2021. This value constitutes 13.38% of Indonesia's total GDP of Rp16.97 quadrillion.
