Banten's Per Capita PDRB Fell to Rp 47.6 Million in 2020

The per capita Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices in Banten was recorded at Rp 47.6 million in 2020. This figure decreased from Rp 51.18 million in the previous year.

Furthermore, the per capita GRDP at constant prices was recorded at Rp 33.53 million last year. This amount also decreased by 4.09% from the previous year's Rp 35.3 million.

Meanwhile, the aggregate economic performance also experienced a contraction. Banten's economy contracted by 3.38% in 2020, down from the 5.29% growth in the previous year.

This condition was caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, which negatively impacted the economy. This negative impact was marked by the sluggish productivity of several business sectors due to decreased demand. These business sectors include transportation, accommodation, and others.

Purchasing power in Banten also weakened. This is reflected in household consumption, which contracted by 2.01% in 2020. Household consumption in Banten contributes up to 55.15% of the total components of Banten's GRDP.

Per capita GRDP is the average income of the population obtained by dividing the GRDP by the population of a region in a particular year. The higher the per capita income, the more prosperous the region.
