Not Jakarta, This Province Had the Smallest Mining Regional Gross Domestic Product (GRDP) Nationally in 2021

The national mining and quarrying sector's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) reached Rp1.52 quadrillion in 2021. This sector contributed 8.98% to the national economy, which totaled Rp16.97 quadrillion.

Gorontalo province had the smallest regional gross domestic product (RGDP) from the mining and quarrying sector in Indonesia. Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), Gorontalo's mining and quarrying RGDP was only Rp483.23 billion in 2021. This value represents only 0.15% of East Kalimantan's mining RGDP, which reached Rp313 trillion.

Gorontalo's mining RGDP constituted only 1.1% of the province's economy, which totaled Rp43 trillion. Gorontalo's largest RGDP came from the agricultural sector, reaching Rp17.09 trillion (38.89%) of the total RGDP.

The next provinces with the smallest mining RGDP were the Special Region of Yogyakarta at Rp668.45 billion, followed by West Sulawesi at Rp1.11 trillion, Maluku at Rp1.18 trillion, and East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) at Rp1.19 trillion.

Following these were Bali with a mining RGDP of Rp2.15 trillion, Bengkulu at Rp4.04 trillion, Banten at Rp4.63 trillion, and DKI Jakarta and North Maluku at Rp6.36 trillion and Rp7.72 trillion, respectively.
