Household Consumption Contributed 54% to Indonesia's GDP in Q2 2025

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that Indonesia's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) at current prices reached Rp5,947 trillion in the second quarter of 2025.

At constant prices, the value was Rp3,396.3 trillion, growing 5.12% year-on-year (yoy) compared to the second quarter of the previous year.

In terms of expenditure, household consumption was the main driver of the Indonesian economy in the second quarter of 2025.

Household consumption at current prices reached Rp3,226.1 trillion, equivalent to 54.25% of the national GDP at current prices.

"This indicates strong domestic demand," said BPS Deputy for Statistics Balance and Analysis Moh. Edy Mahmud in an online press conference on Tuesday (5/8/2025).

Gross Fixed Capital Formation (GFCF) contributed Rp1,654.9 trillion (27.83%).

This was followed by the contribution of exports of goods and services worth Rp1,325.1 trillion (22.28%), government consumption Rp412.2 trillion (6.93%), and changes in inventories Rp154.9 trillion (2.60%).

Then, Consumption of Non-Profit Institutions Serving Households (NPISH) amounted to Rp80.5 trillion (1.35%), and statistical discrepancy (difference between GDP by industry and GDP by expenditure) amounted to Rp322.1 trillion (5.42%).

There was also a reduction from Imports of Goods and Services, valued at Rp1,228.8 trillion or 20.66% of the national GDP at current prices.
