East Kalimantan's Economy Grew 6.17% in 2024; These are the Supporting Sectors

Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), East Kalimantan's economy, measured by gross regional domestic product (GRDP) at current prices, reached Rp858.43 trillion in 2024.

Measured by GRDP at constant 2010 prices, the economy of this province with its capital city in Samarinda was valued at Rp570.82 trillion in 2024, growing by 6.17% from the previous year.

This growth surpassed the national gross domestic product (GDP) growth rate of only 5.03%. The high growth in East Kalimantan is inseparable from the National Strategic Project (PSN) of the Nusantara Capital City (IKN).

The sectors experiencing the highest growth in East Kalimantan in 2024 were government administration (16.46%), followed by electricity and gas supply (16.41%), construction (13.6%), and accommodation and food services (11.67%).

Meanwhile, the sectors with the lowest growth were manufacturing (0.23%), followed by agriculture (2.28%), and health and social activities (4.96%).
