The Indonesian government aims for Indonesia to become a high-income country by 2045. By its 100th anniversary, Indonesia will be a developed country with a Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of US$23,199 per capita.
According to World Bank data, Indonesia is currently classified as a lower-middle-income country, with a Gross National Income (GNI) of US$3,840 per capita in 2018. Therefore, Indonesia has the potential to be upgraded to an upper-middle-income country by 2020. In the summary of the draft National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) 2020-2024, the government projects Indonesia's GNI to reach approximately US$4,300 per capita in 2020.
