Household consumption remains the key driver of Indonesia's economy to this day.
Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), Indonesia's economy, measured by Gross Domestic Product (GDP) at current prices, reached Rp4.92 quadrillion in Q2 2022. Of this amount, household consumption contributed Rp2.53 trillion (51.47%) to the total national GDP.
National household consumption expenditure in Q2 2022 grew by 2.42% compared to Q1 2022 (quarter to quarter/q-to-q). Compared to Q2 2021, household consumption also grew by 5.51% (year on year/yoy).
Social assistance disbursed by the central government, local governments, and the private sector supported lower-income household consumption. Household consumption was also supported by spending activities of the middle-upper class, especially during Ramadan and Idul Fitri.

* Health & Education: 4.27% (yoy)
* Food & Beverages: 4.09% (yoy)
* Others: 3.56% (yoy)
* Housing: 3.31% (yoy)
