Based on data from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), Indonesia's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) based on household consumption expenditure at current prices in the first quarter of 2018 reached Rp 1,991.1 trillion. This figure is higher than the first quarter of 2017, which was Rp 1,838.6 trillion, and the fourth quarter of 2017, which was Rp 1,962.4 trillion.
Meanwhile, the GDP based on household consumption expenditure at constant 2010 prices in the first quarter of this year grew by 4.95% to Rp 1,373.5 trillion from the first quarter of last year. This achievement shows a slight slowdown compared to the fourth quarter of 2017, which reached 4.97%, and extends the record of growth below 5% since 2016. Compared to the fourth quarter of 2017, household consumption only grew by 0.1%.
Indonesia's economy, measured by GDP at constant 2010 prices in the first quarter of 2018, grew by 5.06% to Rp 3,505.3 trillion from Rp 3,228 trillion in the first quarter of 2017. Compared to the fourth quarter of 2017, however, the domestic economy experienced a contraction of 0.42%.
