Four New Emitters Join LQ45: What's Their Weighting in the IHSG?

The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) has announced a number of changes to the LQ45 index following a major evaluation.

According to a report by *Katadata*, four stocks have been removed from the LQ45 index: PT Indika Energy Tbk (INDY), PT Surya Citra Media Tbk (SCMA), PT Tower Bersama Infrastructure Tbk (TBIG), and PT Chandra Asri Pacific Tbk (TPIA).

They have been replaced by four new issuers: PT Merdeka Battery Materials Tbk (MBMA), PT Dayamitra Telekomunikasi Tbk (MTEL), PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk (PGEO), and PT Mitra Pack Tbk (PTMP).

These four new issuers have different weightings in the Jakarta Composite Index (JCI): MBMA at 1.13%; MTEL at 0.48%; PGEO at 0.29%; and PTMP at 0.01%.

These changes are effective for the constituent period from February 1st to July 31st, 2024. The effective period for the index calculation share count is from February 1st to April 30th, 2024.

The number of shares used for index calculation will be adjusted on the effective date if there are any corporate actions. These actions include stock splits, reverse stock splits, rights issues, bonus shares, and/or stock dividends that occur before the effective date, according to the IDX.
