The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) reported that the realization of land reclamation of former mining areas in 2023 reached 7,920.77 hectares (ha). This figure exceeds the target of 7,075 ha.

However, the 2023 realization is still far below the 2022 achievement of 11,084 ha from a target of 7,050 ha. This is the highest achievement in the last six years.
