84% of the Coal Sales Contract Fulfillment to PLN was realized by December 2021.

Based on data from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), the realization of coal sales contract fulfillment for the Indonesian state electricity company (PLN) reached 112 million tons until December 2021. This amount is equivalent to 84% of the previously set target.

Of this amount, there were 116 coal supplier partner companies to PLN in 2021. Specifically, 24 companies fulfilled their sales contracts by more than 100%.

Furthermore, 44 companies fulfilled their sales contracts by 75-100%. Then, 12 companies fulfilled their sales contracts by 50-75%, 11 companies by 0-50%, and 25 companies fulfilled spot sales contracts.

The average contract fulfillment from supplier partners was recorded at 83%. Meanwhile, coal supplier companies that did not fulfill their supply contracts were subject to sanctions in the form of export bans and fines. ESDM recorded that 36 companies had been sanctioned with export bans for failing to meet their supply contracts until October 2021.

In addition, ESDM also recorded that in 2021, 461 holders of Coal Mining Business Work Contracts (PKP2B), Special Mining Business Licenses for Production Operations (IUPK OP), and IUP OP had fulfilled their domestic coal supply obligations or Domestic Market Obligation (DMO).

Specifically, 177 companies fulfilled 100% of their DMO. Then, 21 companies fulfilled 75-100% of their DMO, 26 companies fulfilled 25-50% of their DMO, and 215 companies fulfilled 0-25% of their DMO obligations.

The total percentage of DMO fulfillment by PKP2B, IUPK OP, and IUP OP holders was 114%. This is detailed as a total obligation of 115 million tons and a total realization of 177 million tons.
