10 of the World's Most Expensive Films

Film production is a lengthy and expensive process. According to insider.com, the fourth installment of the *Pirates of the Caribbean* franchise, *Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides*, was the most expensive film ever made until 2020. Starring Johnny Depp, the film cost US$376.5 million (approximately Rp 5.4 trillion).

*Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides*, produced in 2011, grossed over US$1 billion (more than Rp 14 trillion). Lead actor Johnny Depp earned US$55 million (approximately Rp 7.9 billion).

*Avengers: Endgame* holds the second position as the most expensive film ever made, with a production budget of US$350 million (Rp 5.04 trillion). Its gross revenue is estimated at US$2.8 billion (Rp 40 trillion).

Another Marvel production, *Avengers: Infinity War*, ranks third, with a production cost of US$316 million (Rp 4.4 trillion). This film grossed US$2 billion (approximately Rp 29 trillion).

The fourth and fifth positions are occupied by *Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End* and *Justice League*, both with production costs of US$300 million (Rp 4.3 trillion). *Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End* grossed US$961 million (Rp 14 trillion), while *Justice League* grossed US$400 million (Rp 5.8 trillion).
