Databoks analyzed online media reports on the energy crisis issue during the period of February 28 to April 20, 2026.

Of the 3,137 media articles retrieved, the majority or 59.9% of the reports had a negative sentiment.

"The media frames the rise in energy prices as a trigger for inflation and fiscal burdens, and assesses that the dependence on imports directly impacts the domestic economy," Databoks wrote in its report.

Online media reports also extensively highlighted issues of domestic energy supply and distribution, the government's efforts to stabilize prices, and opportunities to accelerate energy independence and promote the transition to renewable energy.

In addition, there were 20.5% of reports with a positive sentiment and 19.6% with a neutral connotation.

The reports with a positive sentiment highlighted the government's role in maintaining stability through price and energy distribution policies.

"The media views the energy crisis as an opportunity to strengthen energy resilience through diversification and the development of alternative energy," Databoks wrote.
