No Special Savings, Residents Willingly Buy Concert Tickets Using Online Loans

A Tunaiku and Amar Bank survey reveals that while some respondents plan financially for entertainment, particularly attending music concerts, others do not.

Specifically, 53.5% of respondents have dedicated savings for entertainment and concerts.

However, 38.6% purchase concert tickets spontaneously without budgeting, and only 8% have a regular budget for concerts.

Regarding unplanned payment methods, 41.3% of respondents who spontaneously bought tickets used paylater services, online loans, or credit card installments.

Furthermore, 23.5% used their emergency funds to purchase concert tickets.

Tunaiku further analyzed the data by age group. Younger respondents (aged 21-30) tend to better prepare funds for concerts compared to the 31-40 age group.

"Seven out of ten respondents in the 21-30 age group have dedicated savings they typically use for entertainment, including concerts," Tunaiku stated in a press release received by Databoks on Wednesday, May 26, 2025.

Meanwhile, 46.5% of respondents aged 31-40 do not have a dedicated budget or savings; they spend spontaneously upon hearing their favorite musicians will perform in Indonesia.

"They mostly utilize online loans, paylater services, and credit card installments, even drawing from emergency funds to buy concert tickets," Tunaiku wrote.

Tunaiku from Amar Bank conducted a small online survey via Tunaiku and Amar Bank's social media accounts, targeting 254 respondents aged 21-50 in the Jabodetabek area, to observe consumer spending trends on entertainment, particularly concerts.
