National High Construction Material Expenditure in Jakarta in 2021

The construction sector plays a vital role in the era of globalization and the 4.0 industrial revolution. Its role is to provide infrastructure that facilitates economic activity.

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reports that total expenditure on building materials in Indonesia amounted to Rp 223.8 trillion in 2020. This figure is down 19.93% from the previous year, which reached Rp 279.5 trillion.

By region, DKI Jakarta had the highest expenditure on building materials at Rp 106.9 trillion. This was followed by East Java with Rp 23.4 trillion.

Expenditure on building materials in West Java was recorded at Rp 18.07 trillion. Central Java and North Sumatra each had expenditures of Rp 13.5 trillion and Rp 7.05 trillion, respectively.

For information, expenditure on construction materials includes the cost of building materials used, fuel and electricity consumption, and other material and service costs.
