Crude Palm Oil (CPO) price on the Rotterdam Commodity Exchange remains at US$ 1,075 per metric ton (Tuesday, November 29, 2022)

The price of CPO on the Rotterdam commodities exchange this morning, until 09.10 WIB (Western Indonesian Time), was US$1,075 per metric ton, as of Tuesday, November 29, 2022. This represents a -2.27% decrease compared to the closing price on Friday, November 25, 2022, which was US$1,075 per metric ton. Today's CPO trading on the Rotterdam commodities exchange is expected to range between US$1,075 and US$1,120 per metric ton.

As shown on investing.com, the price of CPO on the Rotterdam commodities exchange has increased by 2.87% in the past week. However, compared to the previous 30 days, the price of CPO on the Rotterdam commodities exchange is still lower by -0.46%.

Before Russia's attack on Ukraine, the CPO price on the Rotterdam spot market was at US$1,640 per ton (February 23, 2022). After the invasion, the CPO price surged for two weeks.

Compared to the end-of-year price last year, which was US$1,305 per ton, the price of palm oil has dropped by -17.62% (Year to Date/YTD). However, compared to the lowest point on June 16, 2021, the CPO price has surged by 10.26%.

The increase in CPO prices has also impacted the price of cooking oil in Indonesia. The price of cooking oil in various regions is above Rp 20,000 per liter. Cooking oil was even temporarily scarce in the market.

Nevertheless, over the past year, CPO on the Rotterdam commodities exchange has actually experienced a decline. The previous record high reached US$2,010 per metric ton.

The price of CPO on the Rotterdam commodities exchange reached its lowest point at US$880 per metric ton on Thursday, September 29, 2022. The highest point this year was around US$2,010 per metric ton.
