Twenty-six companies are currently in the pipeline for an initial public offering (IPO) on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI), according to BEI data compiled on August 18, 2023.
According to Katadata, the majority of these corporate actions involve companies with medium-sized assets ranging from Rp50 billion to Rp250 billion. By sector, most come from the non-cyclical consumer sector.
BEI Director of Company Valuation, I Gede Nyoman Yetna, stated that 63 companies have already listed on the exchange to date.
"The funds successfully raised from these IPOs have reached Rp49.2 trillion," he said in a written statement quoted on Sunday (August 20, 2023).
Referring to POJK Number 53/POJK.04/2017, there are seven companies with large-scale assets above Rp250 billion.
Fifteen companies have medium-scale assets between Rp50 billion and Rp250 billion, and the remaining four companies have small-scale assets below Rp50 billion.
The following is a breakdown of the sectors of companies queuing for IPOs on the BEI as of August 18, 2023:

Furthermore, Inarno Djajadi, Executive Head of Capital Market Supervision, Derivative Finance and Carbon Exchange at the Financial Services Authority (OJK), is optimistic that the value of funds raised in the Indonesian capital market could reach Rp200 trillion by the end of 2023.
However, this figure is lower than last year's Rp233 trillion raised from all instruments.
Lingering global volatility, coupled with the momentum leading up to the 2024 general election, will affect fundraising this year.
To date, Rp168 trillion has been raised in the capital market from all instruments available on the BEI.
