Rupiah Exchange Rate Strengthens to 15,457 per US Dollar (Tuesday, October 18, 2022)

As of 1:11 PM WIB today, the rupiah exchange rate in the spot market is traded at 15,457 per US dollar, data as of Tuesday, October 18, 2022. This exchange rate strengthened by 0.18% compared to the previous day's closing, which was traded at 15,485 per US dollar. The daily exchange rate movement is expected to be in the range of 15,447.5 - 15,487.5.

As shown on investing.com, the rupiah exchange rate in the spot market has been pressured down by 0.96% in a week. Compared to 30 days earlier, the rupiah exchange rate in the spot market has been pressured down by 4.16%.

However, for a one-year data range, the exchange rate of the rupiah in the spot market has actually decreased (strengthened). The previous highest record reached the level of 15,485 per US dollar.

For the period January-October 2022, the rupiah exchange rate in the spot market has weakened further, moving 8.36% compared to the beginning of the year, which was at the level of 14,264 per US dollar.

The current condition of the rupiah exchange rate is contrary to most regional currencies that are strengthening against the US dollar.

This afternoon, according to several major currencies monitored by Bank Indonesia, among others, the South Korean won strengthened by 9.92 points (-0.69%) to KRW 1,421.61 per US dollar, followed by the Japanese yen strengthening by 0.16 points (-0.10%), the Singapore dollar strengthening by 0.0024 points (-0.17%), the euro strengthening by 0.0008 points (-0.07%), and the Chinese yuan strengthening by 0.0086 points (-0.12%).
