Indonesia's Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) Closes Higher; SCMA and MNCN in the Green (Thursday, August 10, 2023)

The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) strengthened by 18.16 points or 0.26% to 6,893.27 at the close of trading on Thursday (10/8/2023).

This index strengthening was supported, among other things, by shares of Surya Citra Media Tbk (SCMA) and Media Nusantara Citra Tbk (MNCN), which strengthened by 4.79% and 1.92%, respectively.

Based on the IDX-IC Sectoral Index, seven stock sectors strengthened today, led by the energy sector, which rose 1.51%, followed by the transportation and logistics sector, which rose 0.81%, and the technology sector, which rose 0.69%.

Meanwhile, four other stock sectors were corrected. The industrial sector fell the most sharply with a weakening of 0.65%, followed by the property sector down 0.27%, and the financial sector down 0.18%.

Based on RTI Business data, the frequency of stock trading on the domestic exchange today was 1.20 million transactions.

A total of 23.82 billion shares changed hands, with transaction value reaching Rp 27.51 trillion.

The issuer with the code CYBR became the top gainer after strengthening by 31.87%, followed by issuers BBSS and IMAS, which strengthened by 31.34% and 20.45%, respectively.

On the other hand, the top loser today was GTRA, which weakened by 14.73%, followed by PPRI and BAJA, which contracted by 14.71% and 14.65%, respectively.

The majority of shares in today's trading closed higher. Specifically, 267 shares strengthened, 256 shares weakened, and 221 shares were stagnant.
