The Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) strengthened by 12.1 points or 0.16% to 7,433.31 at the close of trading on Thursday (14/3/2024).

Energy sector stocks surged the most today.

Based on the IDX-IC Sectoral Index, six stock sectors strengthened today. The energy sector led with a 2.54% increase, followed by the industrial and technology sectors, which rose by 1.25% and 0.64%, respectively.

Today's top gainer was NIKL, which jumped 25%, followed by DGNS and FIRE, which strengthened by 24.66% and 20.65%, respectively.

On the other hand, IOTF was today's top loser after plunging 16.83%, followed by HATM and TPIA, which fell by 11.59% and 10.84%, respectively.

A total of 271 stocks closed higher today, 269 stocks were stagnant, and 232 stocks weakened.

Meanwhile, Asian regional stock exchanges closed mixed this afternoon. The Nikkei index strengthened by 0.29% to 38,807.39, the Hang Seng index weakened by 0.71% to 16,961.66, the Shanghai index weakened by 0.18% to 3,038.22, and the Straits Times index strengthened by 0.81% to 3,186.39.
