Top 10 Smartest Countries in the World: Japan Takes the Lead

According to a World Population Review report, British psychologist Richard Lynn assessed 103 countries worldwide to measure the intelligence quotient (IQ) of their populations.

Japan ranked highest as the world's smartest country, with an average IQ of 106.48 points. Several factors contribute to Japan's high ranking, including its high-quality education system and a society that values learning.

Taiwan came in second with an average IQ of 106.47 points, followed by Singapore at 105.89 points. Hong Kong and China had average IQs of 105.37 and 104.1 points, respectively.

This IQ assessment considered three main indicators: literacy, mathematics, and science skills. Lynn's research has faced criticism, particularly regarding its methodology. However, it is currently considered the most comprehensive study available.
