The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) strengthened by 34.88 points or 0.51% to 6,864.82 at the close of trading on Thursday, January 26, 2023.

"This strengthening of the JCI is in line with the strengthening of the US and Asian stock exchanges, although it is somewhat mixed," said MNC Securities analyst Herditya Wicaksana, as quoted by Antara, Thursday (26/1/2023).

According to Herditya, today's JCI strengthening was also influenced by sentiment ahead of the release of corporate financial reports, the majority of which are expected to show good performance. A number of large issuers are scheduled to release their Q4-2022 financial reports in the coming period.

Based on data from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), the trading frequency today was 1.19 million transactions.

A total of 18.31 billion shares changed hands, with a transaction value of Rp 10.8 trillion.

ALKA, with a 25% increase, was the top gainer. This was followed by AGRO and PSKT, which strengthened by 18.38% and 14.75%, respectively.

Today's top losers included CASH, which contracted by 10%, followed by TAYS and IFII, which weakened by 7% and 6.98%, respectively.

The majority of stocks closed higher today. Specifically, 308 stocks rose, 292 stocks were stagnant, and 237 stocks fell.
