The Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) strengthened by 34.29 points or 0.47% to 7,336.74 at the close of trading on Tuesday (March 19, 2024).

Based on the IDX-IC Sectoral Index, seven stock sectors strengthened today. The primary consumer goods sector led with a 1.08% increase, followed by the energy and property sectors, which rose 0.73% and 0.68%, respectively.

Meanwhile, four other stock sectors corrected. The technology sector fell the most at 0.89%, followed by the non-primary consumer goods and raw materials sectors, which were down 0.46% and 0.16%, respectively.

According to RTI Business data, the frequency of stock trading on the domestic exchange today was 1.21 million transactions.

A total of 19.63 billion shares changed hands with a transaction value of approximately Rp 9.57 trillion.

Today's top gainer was JARR, which surged 20.97%, followed by CGAS and PTPP, which strengthened by 9.40% and 8.82%, respectively.

On the other hand, GTRA was today's top loser after plunging 13.22%, followed by SURI and PTPS, which fell 10% and 9.09%, respectively.

A total of 262 stocks closed unchanged today, 257 stocks strengthened, and 251 stocks weakened.
