PT Adaro Minerals Indonesia Tbk (ADMR) is a holding company in the mining and metallurgical coal trading sectors that recently went public on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) in early 2022.
ADMR operates through five subsidiaries, each holding a Coal Mining Business License (PKP2B) mining concession in East Kalimantan (Kaltim) and Central Kalimantan (Kalteng), with a total concession area of 146,579 hectares.
ADMR's mining concessions are part of the Upper Kutei Basin, which has metallurgical coal deposits and is one of the largest greenfield areas globally.
Currently, the company, through its subsidiaries, operates two PKP2B concessions: PT Lahai Coal (LC) and PT Maruwai Coal (MC).
LC has been producing green coal since 2015. MC has produced HCC and green coal since 2019 and made its first shipment in 2020.
Meanwhile, three other PKP2B areas managed by PT Kalteng Coal (KC), PT Sumber Barito Coal (SBC), and PT Juloi Coal (JC) still require further exploration. Indicatively, these three areas represent the largest greenfield areas in Central Kalimantan for metallurgical coal.
As of August 31, 2021, all of ADMR's PKP2B concessions had recorded coal resources of 980 million tons and reserves of 170.7 million tons.
With these resources, until August 2021, the company had successfully sold 1.43 million tons of coal to China, India, Japan, and Indonesia.
