Crude Palm Oil (CPO) Price on the Rotterdam Commodity Exchange Falls to US$1,200 per Metric Ton (Sunday, July 24, 2022)

The price of CPO on the Rotterdam commodity exchange this morning until 09.09 WIB was at US$ 1,200 per metric ton, data as of Sunday, July 24, 2022. The CPO price on the Rotterdam commodity exchange fell 4% compared to the previous day's closing price of US$ 1,250 per metric ton. The movement of CPO on the Rotterdam commodity exchange today is expected to be in the range of US$ 1,200 - 1,230 per metric ton.

As shown on investing.com, the price of CPO on the Rotterdam commodity exchange has risen three percent in a week. However, compared to 30 days earlier, the price of CPO on the Rotterdam commodity exchange is still lower by -22.95%.

Before Russia's attack on Ukraine, the CPO price on the Rotterdam spot market was still at US$ 1,640 per ton (2/23/2022). After the invasion, the CPO price soared for two weeks.

Compared to the end of last year, which was still at US$ 1,305 per ton, the price of palm oil has plummeted -8.05% (Year to Date/YTD). Similarly, compared to the lowest point on June 16, 2021, the CPO price has surged 23.08%.

The increase in CPO prices also impacted the price of cooking oil in Indonesia. The price of cooking oil in various regions is above Rp 20,000 per liter. Cooking oil was even temporarily scarce in the market.

However, for a one-year data range, CPO on the Rotterdam commodity exchange has actually experienced a decline. The previous highest record reached US$ 2,010 per metric ton.

The price of CPO on the Rotterdam commodity exchange reached its lowest point at US$ 1,165 per metric ton on Friday, July 15, 2022. The highest point this year was around US$ 2,010 per metric ton.
