PT Bank Central Asia Tbk. (BBCA) is currently the largest private bank in Indonesia. This is consistent with BCA's inclusion, as the only Indonesian private bank, in this year's *Forbes Global 2000* list.
For information, the *Forbes Global 2000* is an annual ranking of the top 2,000 public companies worldwide. The ranking is based on four criteria: sales, profit, assets, and market value.
According to the company's website, as of June 30, 2023, BCA has 1,251 branch offices, 18,483 ATMs, and more than 37 million customer accounts. The bank's total assets have reached Rp1,357 trillion, total credit Rp736 trillion, and net profit Rp24.2 trillion.
So, who owns the shares of Indonesia's largest private bank?
Based on RTI application data as of July 31, 2023, PT Dwimuria Investama Andalan is the largest shareholder of BCA, holding 54.94% of the shares. The shareholders of PT Dwimuria Investama Andalan are Robert Budi Hartono and Bambang Hartono, owners of the Djarum Group and among the wealthiest individuals in Indonesia.
Meanwhile, 42.39% of the shares are held by the public, followed by BCA's commissioners and directors with shareholdings of less than 0.1%.
Most recently, on August 18, 2023, BCA President Director Jahja Setiaatmadja donated 8 million BCA shares to his two children, Enrica Ariestia PS and Elizabeth Ariestia MS. The total value of the donated shares reached Rp74 billion.
However, Jahja still holds a significant number of shares in the private bank.
According to information disclosure from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) on Monday, August 22, 2023, Jahja is known to have held approximately 40.81 million BBCA shares before donating his shares. Each of his two children received a donation of 4 million BCA shares at a price of Rp9,250 per share.
As a result, Jahja's shareholding decreased from 40.81 million shares to 32.81 million shares. In percentage terms, before the donation, Jahja held 0.033% of BCA shares, which has now decreased to 0.027%.
Although below 1%, Jahja's shareholding in BCA is among the highest among other commissioners and directors.
According to RTI data as of July 31, 2023, Jahja Setiaatmadja remains the second-largest shareholder among BCA's commissioners and directors. Jahja is ranked below BCA President Commissioner Djohan Emir Setijoso, who holds 0.086% of BBCA shares.
