19% of Indonesia's Central Government Spending Will Go to Debt Interest Payments by 2026

In the 2026 State Budget Draft (RAPBN), the total allocation for Indonesia's central government spending reaches Rp3,136 trillion.

The largest portion of this budget is allocated to goods and services spending, amounting to Rp706.73 trillion (22% of total central government spending).

The next largest expenditure is for interest payments on government debt, amounting to Rp599.44 trillion (19%).

The planned interest payments on government debt in 2026 are as follows:

• Domestic debt: Rp538.7 trillion (90% of total interest payments)
• Foreign debt: Rp60.74 trillion (10%)

The allocated budget for interest payments on government debt in the 2026 RAPBN is larger than in previous years.

To date, the Indonesian Ministry of Finance has not yet released a report on the government's debt position for 2025.

However, based on the latest official data available, at the end of November 2024, the total government debt had reached Rp8,680.13 trillion.
