The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) strengthened by 32.48 points or 0.46% to 7,286.88 at the close of trading on Friday (5/4/2024).

This index strengthening occurred ahead of the long Idul Fitri 1445 H/2024 holiday, which runs from Monday (8/4/2024) to Monday (15/4/2024).

301 stocks closed lower today, 261 stocks rose, and 220 stocks were stagnant.

Today's top gainer was BAJA, which soared 34.52%, followed by CGAS and PYFA, which increased by 34.38% and 24.55%, respectively.

On the other hand, VNTY was today's top loser after plunging 12.15%, followed by AEGS and PBRX, which fell by 10% and 8.33%, respectively.

Meanwhile, Asian regional stock exchanges closed mostly in the red this afternoon. The Nikkei index fell 1.96% to 38,992.10, the Hang Seng index fell 0.01% to 16,723.91, and the Straits Times index fell 0.52% to 3,218.26.

The Shanghai index was closed today in observance of the Qingming Festival.
