Indikator Politik Indonesia conducted a post-election survey to gauge public perception of the fairness and justice (jurdil) of the 2024 General Election.
"Fairness and justice are crucial measures, as they are fundamental principles in a democratic election," said Indikator's Principal Researcher, Hendro Prasetyo, in an online presentation on Wednesday, February 28, 2024.
The survey results show that a majority, or 79.3% of respondents, considered the 2024 election to be fair and just. This comprises 18.6% who rated it as "very fair and just," and 60.7% who rated it as "fairly just."
On the other hand, 18% of respondents considered the 2024 election to be less or not fair and just. This breaks down to 11.4% rating it as "less just," and 6.6% rating it as "not just at all."
"Although many (respondents) said it was fair and just, a portion, or less than one-fifth, felt the election was less just," said Hendro.
A breakdown by presidential and vice-presidential candidate preference shows that the majority of voters for Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka stated the election was fair and just, with a proportion of 93.1%.
Among Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD voters, 72% stated the election was fair and just. Meanwhile, only 50.1% of Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar voters felt the same.
The Indikator survey was conducted from February 18-21, 2024, involving 1,227 respondents aged 17 and above who owned a telephone. This sample is assumed to represent 83% of the total national population.
Sample selection used a random digit dialing (RDD) technique. Selected respondents were then interviewed by telephone.
The survey's margin of error is approximately 2.9% at a 95% confidence level, assuming random sampling.
